Since the early70's, the Nelsons have been singing gospel music in eastern North Carolina. They have long been one of the area's favorite groups.
Each December the group hosts a two-night Christmas Celebration at Free Grace Wesleyan in Harker's Island, NC. This year's event was held on December 5th and 6th. All the proceeds from this event are donated toward Christmas gifts for children of needy families in the area.
Gospel Notes attended this year's celebration on Thursday, December 5. A large audience was on hand to hear an evening of great Christmas music. In fact, the sanctuary was completely full and turned into a “standing room only” situation. There is no doubt that the people in eastern NC still love and appreciate the Nelsons.
