Featuring Southern Gospel Music in Eastern North Carolina

The Social Security Boys were recently at the Western Sizzlin' Steakhouse in Dunn, NC. In addition to serving an amazing buffet, this restaurant hosts gospel music every Tuesday evening.

This particular evening presented an array of challenges. Some of those were challenges in producing a video. The large window behind the singers and the afternoon sun caused enough glare to challenge our camera. The second challenge was noise. This is a restaurant, and there are numerous background noises that are part of any restaurant setting. And then there were the conversations. You might think that folks would be quiet during the gospel music, but they actually just talk louder.

The Social Security Boys were dealing with a challenge that evening. Group member Mike Runyon was unable to be there. This left the group with the challenge of finding songs that they could sing as a trio.

Even with all the challenges, this was an enjoyable evening with good food, good singing, and good fellowship. If you have not yet tried this location, we recommend it.

Future appointments for the Social Security Boys are included in the Gospel Notes schedule listings.

A video from this evening can be found on the Gospel Notes video page.
